A NAVAL AVIATOR AND HIS DAUGHTER
Jesse Walker — naval aviator, callsign CHUNK: 15 years, 4 deployments, 3,000+ flight hours — runs Big Black Cow with his daughter Scarlett. Together they built a vinyl operation with 10,000+ orders shipped and 100% positive feedback, grading records to goldmine standard and answering every message themselves.
The shop came first. The label came because the records demanded it.
THE FAMILY
Four Muscle Shoals musicians — Dylan LeBlanc, James LeBlanc, Angela Hacker, and Bay Simpson — one family finding its way back to each other. Their debut, Delusions of Grandeur, was recorded at FAME Studios and released July 31 on Big Black Cow Records, on vinyl and everywhere you stream.
James’s songs have been cut by Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Rascal Flatts. Angela won Nashville Star. Bay stood on The Voice stage. This record is where all of it comes home.
DYLAN LEBLANC
Praised by NPR, MOJO, and Uncut, Dylan LeBlanc has spent a decade as one of the finest voices to come out of the Shoals. Around here he’s also family — literally — and his records line the shelves a few feet from where this label was born.
WHAT’S COMING
A live album — The Family, recorded in one night, audio and film — is mastered and waiting for this fall. And the next act on the roster, Alabama Heathens, is already making noise in the wings. This label is just getting started.
