R.E.M. Launches Fan Story Archive Celebrating Four Decades of Music

R.E.M. fans now have a new place to share personal stories about the impact the band and its music have had on their lives.

According to a post on the band’s social media, R.E.M. Stories is a website dedicated to collecting and preserving personal accounts of how the band’s music has intersected with people’s lives over the past four decades.

Created by Justin Bass, the fan-driven project features a wide range of experiences. As the website explains, “Some are funny. Some are profound. All are true.” Together, the stories create an oral history of what R.E.M. and its music have meant to fans through the years.

The site currently features three stories, with new submissions scheduled to be published on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Fans can submit their own stories and explore contributions from other R.E.M. listeners at remstories.net.
